When it comes to user experience (UX) design, one of the most important aspects is ensuring that users can easily and intuitively navigate an application or website. This is where first-click testing comes in.

First-click testing is a technique used in UX design to evaluate the usability of a website or application by analysing the first click a user makes on a page. This technique is used to determine whether the design of a website or application is intuitive enough for users to quickly and easily find what they're looking for.

The importance of first-click testing lies in the fact that users are often in a hurry and may become frustrated or give up if they can't find what they're looking for quickly. By analysing the first click, UX designers can identify and fix potential issues that may be hindering the user experience.

For example, if users are clicking on a button that they expect to take them to a certain page, but instead it takes them to a different page, this can lead to frustration and confusion. By identifying and fixing these issues through first-click testing, UX designers can improve the overall usability and user experience of a website or application.

Another benefit of first-click testing is that it can help identify potential design flaws before they become major issues. By analysing how users interact with a website or application, UX designers can identify potential problems early on and make the necessary changes to improve the overall design.

Optimal workshops

The first click tests were carried out using the website optimal workshops. Below is a selection of some of the data collected through the study so far along with an example of a screen that I have used for a test.
